FARMOVS GCP Courses are accredited by the South African Medical Association Research Ethics Committee (SAMAREC)

These courses will provide needed insight into the South African clinical research regulatory environment, enabling you to navigate the environment. Modules include references to SA GCP 2020 version (3rd Edition), ICH GCP E6 (R 2) and the Ethics in Health Research guideline of 2015 (DOH 2015). Where applicable, reference is made to the Declaration of Helsinki, Belmont Report, South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) guidelines, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency's (EMA) guidelines. You will have 3 attempts to pass each module test. The GCP certificates are valid for 3 years in South Africa as per SAHPRA requirements.   

NOTE: For the Basic Full Day GCP course (introductory course for first time attendees) we offer learners the opportunity, that should they have any questions or would like to have a practical discussion on any of the topics with one of our experienced trainers, to send a request for a Microsoft Teams meeting to be scheduled allowing for interactive learning to take place. Learners can also send through any course queries to onlinetraining@farmovs.com which will be attended to within 24 hours, Mondays - Fridays.

2. Who should complete the GLP course?

Anyone looking to pursue a career in clinical and/or laboratory research who would like to conduct GLP-compliant clinical trials.

3. Are the courses linked to specific dates, or can I start at any time?

You can start on any date. You can stop and resume the course whenever convenient. However, you must complete the course within 7 days from the date of registration.

4. What if I fail a test?

You will have more than one opportunity to complete the online tests.

5. How often should I complete the GCP Refresher Course?

The first step is to complete the Full GCP Course. Thereafter you can complete the Refresher GCP Course every 3rd year. Be advised that you should register for the course and complete it BEFORE your certificate expires.

6. How often should I complete the GLP Course?

The requirement in the Industry for GLP is when there is an update to the OECD guideline.
